Tanja Weber is partner in our Labor & Employment practice based in our Berlin office. She focuses her practice on litigation and counseling in all aspects of German labor and employment law, as well as related fields such as pensions and social security law. Her particular expertise covers advising national and international corporations on all aspects of individual and collective employment law issues. She has significant litigation practice in all these areas.

Tanja advises on restructurings of companies and their workforce, lay-offs and negotiations with works councils in the context of co-determination, including the negotiation of reconciliation of interests and social plans. She also regularly advises national and international companies in mergers and acquisitions, with respect to labor and employment law and pensions. She also provides specialist advice in TUPE issues.


In addition, Tanja has extensive experience in advising employers on union and works council issues, discrimination, data protection, employment contracts, hiring and termination, severance and separation agreements, benefits and bonus models, working hour issues, outsourcing and employee leasing and she covers the full horizon of work place labor and employment law issues. She has broad experience in all matters of preparation and termination of executive and managing director agreements.


Tanja is a frequent speaker on labor and employment law issues in a range of public forums and conducts trainings for managers and supervisors. Even before her qualification as a lawyer she was involved as a speaker in collective Employment Law. She is a certified specialist in employment law (Fachanwältin für Arbeitsrecht) and a certified specialist in mediation (M.A.).

  • Advised a major international company on several acquisitions, including due diligence review and post-merger integration.
  • Acted for an NYSE-listed international electronic producer in regard of a joint venture acquisition of optical modules.
  • Advised leading companies in regard of terminations of German subsidiaries managing directors.
  • Advised on restructuring of a German company, including the negotiation of reconciliation of interests and social plans with the works councils and representation of all stages of litigation.
  • Advised and represented a mayor German theatre operator during all stages of negotiations with the works council in workplace organization.
  • Provided successfully a bespoke in-house seminar for all senior employees in regard to German and European employment matters.
