Dmitry A. Kunitsa leads the firm’s real estate practice in Russia and other countries of the former USSR. He has extensive experience in real estate development, investment projects and virtually all types of contemporary real estate transactions. His practice focuses on advising institutional and private investors on structuring and implementing complex, cross-border transactions aimed at the acquisition of real estate; representing major Western and Russia-based companies in wide varieties of real estate transactions in Russia and other jurisdictions with similar legal systems; advising lenders and borrowers on real estate financing and refinancing matters; representing private companies in negotiations with governmental authorities of all levels; and providing legal advice on regulatory aspects of real estate transactions.
Mr. Kunitsa is recommended by PLC Which Lawyer? Yearbook 2009 for his real estate practice in Russia. He also appears in Legal Media Group’s Guide to the World’s Leading Real Estate Lawyers.
Mr. Kunitsa practiced with two major international firms in Moscow and New York for 14 years prior to joining Squire Sanders in 2007.
