Squire Patton Boggs has been ranked the ‘Most Active Law Firm in Investment Arbitration Representing States’ and the third ‘Most Active Law Firm in Commercial Arbitration’ according to Jus Connect’s 2023 Data-Driven Arbitration Rankings.

The rankings are underpinned by data from Jus Mundi’s international arbitration database, drawn from a variety of objective sources, including global institutions, associations, public sources, and professional insights.

With expertise in international commercial arbitration, international investment treaty arbitration, and international public law disputes, Squire Patton Boggs has one of the most complete international arbitration groups in the world.

The firm has expanded its practice to over 140 attorneys across 20 different countries, adding several new partners and senior lawyers over the past year, including Naomi Briercliffe (London), Charles Rosenberg (Washington DC), Victor Datry (Paris) and Bryan Dayton (Dubai).

The team has achieved some of the largest and most significant investment treaty arbitration victories, most recently for Turkmenistan, Ecuador, Croatia and Kosovo.

Stephen Anway, Global Co-chair of the firm’s International Dispute Resolution Practice, commented: “We are delighted with our performance in Jus Connect’s rankings. They are a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team, and also the support of our clients, who trust us time and again to handle their most significant cases.”

Global Co-Chair George von Mehren, who founded the practice over 20 years ago, added: “The market has spoken. Objective data places us in the Top 3, demonstrating the preeminence of our international arbitration practice.”
