Jonathan Jacob Nadler

Jack Nadler focuses his practice on telecommunications regulation and has worked on a wide range of international and US-based telecommunications projects. Mr. Nadler has worked extensively on issues regarding telecommunication liberalization, competitive safeguards and the regulation of IP-based services. He also has substantial experience in communications-related antitrust matters. He has been listed in each edition of The International Who’s Who of Regulatory Communications Lawyers since 2003 and is noted as a recommended lawyer in that practice area in Practical Law Company’s Which Lawyer? Yearbook 2009.

Mr. Nadler has advised governments and regulatory authorities in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa and South America. Since 1999, Mr. Nadler has served as a legal adviser to the government of Singapore regarding the introduction of competition in the telecommunications, media and postal sectors. He currently advises the government of Bermuda in connection with the adoption of legislation to establish a multi-sectoral regulatory authority and restructure the electronic communications sector. Recently, he advised the government of Lesotho regarding the restructuring of their info-communications regulatory regime and the adoption of a national media policy. Mr. Nadler also advised the government of Qatar regarding the introduction of competition in that country’s wireline and wireless telecommunications sector. He previously advised the government of Hungary in connection with its accession to the European Union.

Mr. Nadler also has advised telecommunications providers in numerous countries including Argentina, Bolivia, China, Costa Rica, Hong Kong, Peru, South Africa, South Korea and Sweden regarding various telecommunications regulatory matters.

In the United States, Mr. Nadler has represented communications industry clients including regulated telephone companies (both wireline and wireless), information service providers, computer and communications equipment manufacturers, and large corporate users. He was actively involved in the legislative proceedings leading to the adoption of the Telecommunications Act of 1996, major FCC implementation proceedings and numerous court of appeals cases growing out of the Act before the United States Courts of Appeals.

Mr. Nadler is a leading member of the firm’s 800 MHz Transition Administration (TA) team, which was selected by the Federal Communications Commission to oversee the largest spectrum rebanding project ever undertaken. He played an active role in the development of the TA’s Alternative Dispute Resolution program and has conducted more than 100 successful mediations.

Mr. Nadler’s extensive experience in antitrust (competition) law matters includes counseling communications clients regarding such issues as vertical and horizontal integration, exclusive program distribution agreements, price discrimination and predatory pricing.
