- Serving as bond counsel to Western Reserve Port Authority for the development of a privately-owned rail-served landfill (to receive municipal solid waste and construction and demolition debris) to be located in Mahoning County, Ohio.
- Serving as bond counsel to the District of Columbia on the financing of the new baseball stadium for the Washington Nationals. The bonds included both taxable and tax exempt issues aggregating US$534.8 million. The overall cost of the project, including renovation of the existing RFK Stadium, is estimated at US$631 million.
- Serving as bond counsel to the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority in connection with interim financings for capital improvements and working capital.
- Serving as bond counsel to the Water Infrastructure Finance Authority of Arizona in connection with the issuance of its US$205.4 million Water Quality Revenue Bonds. Proceeds of the bonds will be used to fund loans by the authority to finance water quality projects throughout Arizona.
- Serving as bond counsel to the Tucson Airport Authority in connection with the issuance of US$32 million of Subordinate Lien Airport Revenue Bonds to finance concourse improvements.
- Serving as underwriters' counsel in connection with the issuance by Palm Beach County, Florida of US$69.1 million of airport system revenue bonds to finance airport improvements and the concurrent issuance of US$16.9 million of taxable airport system revenue refunding bonds to advance refund and defease a portion of a prior bond issue.
- Representing Lone Star Wind, LLC and FPL Energy (now NextEra Energy Resources, LLC) in a US$700 million term loan and letter of credit project financing deal for wind facilities.
- Serving as bond counsel in connection with the issuance by Lee County, Florida of its US$37.8 million Airport Revenue Refunding Bonds to refinance certain improvements to Southwest Florida International Airport. The bonds are secured by a pledge of net revenues from the operation of the airport.
- Advising a concessionaire in connection with construction of the second phase of the A2 toll motorway in Poland, the part of the Trans-European Network that runs from Berlin to Warsaw. The deal was ranked by Project Finance as one of the Global Top 10 Project Finance Deals in the first half of 2009. The deal was also named PPP Transport Deal of the Year by Jane’s Transport Finance and one of the Top Ten financial/economic events in Poland in 2009 by Rzeczpospolita, Poland’s leading daily. This complicated project financing encompassed years of negotiations of a public-private partnership with Poland's government. A few highlights of the €1.586 billion (US$2.32 billion) deal include: the project was 12 years in the making, dating back to initial award of the concession in 1997; the motorway is the largest project to be built in Poland in preparation for EURO 2012; the €1 billion (US$1.4 billion) finance contract we negotiated with the European Investment Bank is the largest financing it has ever provided to Poland; the €400 million (US$576.2 million) commercial credit facility was led by Calyon and Deutsche Bank, and involved 13 commercial banks; equity and subordinated debt of €186 million (US$267.9 million) was provided principally by Meridiam Infrastructure Fund; with a construction price close to €1.3 billion (US$1.8 billion), the construction contract we drafted and negotiated is the largest in Strabag’s history; and the project will employ thousands of people on one of the largest construction sites in Europe.
- Leading an advisory group representing Morocco’s Office National Des Aeroports in a feasibility study and analysis of major Morocco airports and the development of a kingdom-wide integrated airport system plan for modernization and expansion.
