Guy E. Motzer focuses his practice on the resolution of complex commercial disputes, through litigation in the trial, appellate and bankruptcy courts as well as alternative dispute resolution methods. His work ranges from the enforcement of multimillion-dollar loans secured by commercial or agricultural real estate and other real property controversies to mass tort and products liability defense.

His lender clients include major insurance companies as well as banks and credit corporations. Mr. Motzer has also represented a number of pharmaceutical manufacturers, telecommunication businesses, utilities, real estate groups and automotive companies in a wide variety of commercial disputes.

Mr. Motzer is rated AV by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating in both ability and ethical standards. He is a member of the Palm Beach County Bar Association.

• Counseling lenders in securing the cash flow from income-producing properties after the borrower’s default, obtaining receivership appointments, invoking prejudgment creditor's remedies, such as garnishment, attachment and replevin, prosecuting and defending lender’s claims in bankruptcy, including obtaining stay relief, and enforcing additional security, such as guarantees and other debt instruments.
• Defeating an attempted nationwide class action against consumer lender for claims based on bankruptcy intervention. Decision reported in Guetling v. Household Financial Services, Inc., 312 B.R. 699 (M.D. Fla. 2004).
• Defeating an attempt to extend general jurisdiction of a Florida court over a global automotive manufacturer in a wrongful death claim originating abroad. Decision reported in TRW Vehicle Safety Systems, Inc. v. Santiso, 980 So.2d 1149 (Fla. 4th DCA 2008).
• Defeating at trial a multimillion-dollar fraud claim seeking lost profits and punitive damages against a commercial landlord.
• Defeating products liability plaintiffs’ attempts to assert fraud claims against a global pharmaceutical manufacturer.
• Enforcing guarantees following foreclosure of mortgaged real and personal property. An example is the decision reported in Resolution Trust Corporation v. SLR of Maitland Center Limited Partnership, 810 F. Supp. 298 (M.D. Fla. 1993), aff'd, 22 F.3d 1098 (11th Cir. 1994).
• Assisting clients in quieting title to real estate, enforcing commercial leases and prosecuting boundary disputes.
